Submission- Luke 5.5-6

Source
At the service yesterday, we learnt about submission;
Submission was defined as "showing quiet obedience", "humility to serve" or "yield to the will of another person/ a superior force or voluntarily subjected".

Luke 6.46; Why do you call me Lord Lord and do not what I say?
Submission to God means to rely on Him fully and to work on His understanding not yours.
Matt 1. 19- 24;

19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife

Ephesians 5: 22-23

22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.

What can hinder submission;
1. Pride- Dan 5:20-21, Dan 4.30
2. Anger- Ecc 7:8-9
3. Ignorance- Hos 4.6
4. Wrong Counsel- Psalms 1.1
5. Human Knowledge
6. Impatience- 1 Sam. 13:8

Benefits;
1. Peace- Job 22.21
2. Freedom- Rom 6.16-17
3. Power- James 4.7, Deut 34.9
